A pint of bitter please - sobering tax reality check at Project Orange bar, Clapham

Bitter tax hit!

Bitter tax hit!

Thirsty visitors to Project Orange bar, Clapham are now confronted with exactly how much tax they pay on each pint of their favorite tipple thanks to labels on pumps.

This brash display of, almost, apologetic honesty is actually quite refreshing if not a little worrying.

Best make mine a half!

hehe, very clever! Can’t help but laugh….for a sad state of affairs! Sounds like something we would ponder in Canada, but probably never do.

A stylish way to inform customers about taxation. Also, wine has been hit with an increase of 17p/c in tax this year.

Yeah, 97p tax on a pint is bad, but given that they are probably charging about £3.50, thats not bad for the bar, just the customer. They cant really get too annoyed at the government about tax on alcohol…if its too expensive, dont drink in a bar, simple.
